1995 Kawasaki KDX200 (Score: +1)

Rider
5'6" / 150lbs / Intermediate

Power:

The power is beautiful, plenty of bottom and mid with a decent top end but gets a little flat up top. (has a fmf gnarly woods pipe and turbinecore 2 silencer)

Ergonomics:

low seat hight a little wide for my taste

Suspension, Front:

I find it to be a little on the soft side for woops but amazing in trails.

Suspension, Rear:

again too soft for woops but amazing for trails

Handling:

very nimble this is my 6th bike and 3rd kawasaki and its the best handling one ive owned

Brakes:

not bad

Comments:

amazing bike very recommend, the KDX200 stayed the same from 1995 to 2006 so parts are numerous

Power:

Decent all around power stock. Faster riders will like the FMF gnarly rev, in which it adds a lot of mid-top, but still keeps the nice bottom end, bike becomes slightly "pipey", but definetly worth it.

Suspension:

Stock is crap if you're over 140 lbs. Get it revavled by Jeff Freddette or add stiffer springs and you'll be happier on both trails and MX tracks.

Handling:

Handling is surprisingly good for a trail bike, point it where you want and go.

Brakes:

They stop, keep the pads fresh and they'll work like hondas (or very close).

Comments:

Do good mods to it and it will be excellent for MX and trails. Stock is still good for trails, but not MX.

Power:

Not much in the low-end. But, it has a nice hit in the mid-high. Could use some low-end power. But, it had good tire spinning-wheelie pulling power. I actaully liked it stock! I was seriously impressed with the power!

Suspension:

The version I purchased was stock except the suspension. It was modified and was quite stiff. I didn't like it. But, it worked on big jumps. Which was what it was set up for.

Handling:

Great! I have absolutly no complaints about this.

Brakes:

Ditto to last review. The front is great. But, the rear fades often. But, besides that. It worked fine.

Comments:

Great overall trail bike. It is the fastest one I've ridden (trail that is). I wish I didn't sell it. I do have one complaint thought. THE SEAT WAS FREAKIN' UNCOMFORTABLE! Hmm. Maybe that is cause I weigh alot.? (205lbs)

Power:

Quite OK for me, but I am only 165lbs. My only complaint would echo KDXMan2 - not much low. I am looking at a FMF pipe to fix that (my birthday is coming...) and I'll post a reply after that.

Suspension:

Trails - great! MX - forget it without mods.

Handling:

Great, great, and even better. The only time it misses the trail is the rider.

Brakes:

Front is great, feels nice and stops when you pull it. Rear fades quickly but never to the point of being a problem.

Comments:

I love my KDX and would buy another one. The only complaints would be power, but that can be fixed, and every ride I bend the #*&@in' shifter. Safety wire it and carry a spair.
