The trail condition was great...a bit dusty but not a problem. One trail was closed to to a fallen tree, 2 more were closed due to extensive damage.

1)The bathrooms were good when we arrived and nasty when we left.
2) People speeding in parking area. Late night engine reving (12 midnight until about 3am)
3) We camped across from bathroom at the trail head and had a loud family on either side of us drinking heavily getting loud and playing latino music until about 4 am
4)People over driving for their skill level and speeding on the trails without little consideration for other riders...at one time a head on almost occured with the 4th rider in my group.
5) Bud Light seems to be the beer of choice along the trails due to the large number of empty beer cans.
6) People need to stay on the trails...the main trail had a swamp/wetland and you could see where people had been driving through it.

The bathrooms were clean when we got there but later in the evening they started to get nasty due to all the drunks puking and pissing all over the floors and toilet seats.
Below is asking for a rating. Had I not experienced the loud mouth and obnoxious campers I would rate Houston Valley ORV an 8. Due to my latest experience I will rate 5 or less. I will go back because the facility is and was great, it was just a bad group of riders this day.

Overall, the trails were in very good condition. There were a few mudpits, but other than that, I didn't see any bad ruts.

I took my son (riding a CRF80) with me for his first time riding on trails, and we had a great time. We did not ride all of the trails, but we did ride most of them, and he did not have any problems. Like any beginner, he was certainly a little slow on some sections, but he was able to make it up and down all the hills. I think his favorite part though was going full-speed on the main entrance trail.

Trail system is laid out very well. It was not rutted despite obvious heavy use and late in the season. Very sloppy wet this time of year. Extremely muddy but lots of fun.

The parking lot was out of control. Rowdy, anxious riders, mostly young people, revving engines, burnouts, donuts, general stupidness. Once on the trail didnt notice any of that. We saw riders with no helmets, riding double on single quads. Even saw riding double on a 3-wheeler. Definately needs to be a ranger presence in the parking area.

Despite the craziness in the parking area, there was nothing but fun riding for all on the trails. The trails were laid out well and obviously maintained as they were great for ATV or motorccyle use. It was very slick and sloppy muddy this day but was still a lot of fun and you could see the potential for high speed fun when the trails dry out and return to dirt. Not the most technically challenging trail system which made it perfect for this middle aged couple on our sport quads. We will definiately be back! Overall, an awesome experience, just watch out in the parking area.

Bathrooms were as clean as they could be given the muddy clop everything was. No toilet paper in mens room and of course someone always has to leave their trash.

It was good enough that I have decided to return for a day on my bike.I rode here the first time on a Honda rancher 350 4 wheel drive atv.Considering that this was my first time to EVER ride an atv of any kind off road or on a trail,I'll give the H Valley ORV Area a 93 out of 100.

The trailheads were a bit trafficky(is that a word?)BUT consider this is a two way traffic area.Away from the parking lot,i do not recall seeing another bike or atv.
THE BAD:idiots that littered out on the trail and IDIOTS that made their own trail(s)w/their atvs.what else is new with that happening?TOO MANY of them doing it and it will hurt us all.

The varied terrain.the hill climbing w/the jumps. The actual expanse of the area to ride.REALLY LARGE.REALLY SPREAD OUT.Had a few streams and all to ride thru too!!
I give it an overall 10 just because once away from the parking lot and up on the highest ridge,I cut the atv off and heard NOTHING.There was about a half full parking lot too.SO either it is that large of an area OR it is well designed OR both.I vote both.

well let's just say if John J. Crapper saw that crapper he would roll over in his grave. please look out for small rider the 2-way traffic is very bad on busy days. please remember you are not the only one out there. I love to ride fast too but I would hate to think I hurt a small child by being careless.

Trail was in great shape. No dust on the trails and the water holes were just right for my little guys. Nice easy riding, nothing is too hard here.

It was a little crowded for my sons 8 and 6. People who ride off the trail in restricted areas. These people are the ones who get our riding areas closed.

There are some really good trails for kids, if you stay to the left side of the main road. They did great on a 50 and 90 on the easy trails. It wasn't too bad crowded down there

I don't like the 2 way traffic on these trails. Way too many blind turns, jumps, and uphills/downhills. It's really sketchy. Not so fun to ride when you are always on guard for someone coming right at you (although I never had a problem). Some trails have loose rocks which can trip you up in a flash. No signs on the roads there.

Facility is great. Marked trails with difficulty and good markers telling you which way back to the parking lot. A good trail network.

This place is perfect for ATVs. It has trails for all skill levels. Easy access from the highway.

The trails were in great shape. I was very suprised how good they really were. We had so much rain, and the big storms, I thought many of the trails would be washed out. It looks as though some work had been done on many of them, and lots of trails had fresh gravel spread out.

It was a little busy for my taste, but it was a beautiful day and lots of people wanted to ride. I was upset to see they closed off my favorite mud hole area. It had been filled in with gravel.

THE SPEED. I love to drive fast when ever possible. I am a very safe rider since I ride with my wife and two boy's, but when I can, I like to open up and see what my atv will do. The main road or trails will allow you to do this.

The bathroom was in need of a GOOD cleaning. I would also like to see at least one more bathroom brought in. One can not take care of the amount of people that show up The parking area was crowded, but very clean.

My first time out this year to Houston Valley- trails were in good shape. Some muddy, slick spots and a few ruts, but remarkably dry condidering all the rain this spring.

One major downed tree- the path around it was a little tricky- off camber 180 gave everyone in our group fits. No crowds today but be careful for two way traffic on the weekends.

I really like the huge variety at Houston Valley- something for everyone- hills, rocks, mud, clay, gravel fire roads, water crossings, and water breaks.

Houston Valley has paved parking! Also, not far at all off the main road. Those dragging small trailers will appreciate this.
